LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

RETURN GOODNESS FOR EVIL

1. Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But, I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans do the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans do so? (Matthew, 5: 43-47).

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful (Luke, 6: 3236).

Jesus, after being tortured and final nailed to the cross, begged our Creator to forgive us and what else can we demand? He gave everything from preaching to dying, for the principle of morality for us to reach happiness. Religion teaches us an easy way out because we can hate all we want and then the “death of the Lamb of God” will save us through the ritual of Mass. That’s why when a read The Age of Reason I realized I had a backup of my ideas by Thomas Paine for my books, specially Christ’s Wisdom and the Unholy Prophets. I felt content to know I had
